Hydrogeology-Remediation Group Intern
New England Environmental Inc. (NEE) is seeking an intern to assist with work being conducted under the guidance of staff in the Hydro-Remediation Division. We are considering students having a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or working toward this degree having a broad range of interests. NEE’s Hydro-Remediation Department provides a number of services to clients including environmental site assessments, sampling of environmental media (soil, sediments, indoor air, and groundwater), soil borings and monitoring well installation, construction oversight related to contaminated soil, and site inspections to maintain active remediation systems. As an intern, you would be required to work on any number of projects that may provide the aforementioned services.
Qualifications/Skills Required:
Candidate should have completed sophomore or junior year of college in a natural science or engineering field such as environmental engineering, geology, biology, environmental science, or chemistry. Applicants must have completed the OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training, and preferably be current with their 8-hour annual refresher in order to do field work. Applicants should have excellent organizational, writing and speaking skills; have a working knowledge of computer and basic software programs; and be enthusiastic, self motivated, and optimistic. Must be able to communicate and work with a diverse audience, and work independently as well as a member of a team. Candidates must be available and willing to travel away from home at times, depending on work schedules, and be able to work outside in all weather conditions.
Work Time Frame
NEE will be offering this internship for a 10 week period from June 4 through August 31.
Work hours:
This is considered a temporary, part-time position offering between 30-40 hours each week. Because of the nature of this position, the work schedule is irregular and may include some evening and weekend hours. Normal business hours are between 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and most work will occur between these hours. Work will be divided between office and field work, as possible, and will include work in all weather conditions.
Compensation:
NEE interns will be paid Massachusetts minimum wage for the length of the position. For any work in which you are required to use your own vehicle for company work, you will be reimbursed for travel miles at the rate is set each year by the Federal Government. If your work requires you to stay overnight away from home, NEE will provide pay for overnight accommodations, and reimburse you (currently $30.00/day per diem) to cover the cost of breakfast and dinner.
Travel and Transportation:
Applicant must have reliable transportation possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Natural Resource Group Internship

We are considering students having a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or working toward this degree and having a broad range of interests. NEE’s Natural Resource Department provides a number of services to clients including wetland delineations, rare species and wildlife surveys, botanical surveys, vegetation surveys, environmental permitting, lake and pond assessment, oversight of wetland restoration and mitigation projects, construction oversight related to sediment and erosion control, and site inspections to maintain catch basin and water quality features at commercial facilities. As an intern, you would be required to work on any number of projects that may provide the aforementioned services.

Restoration Group Internship
The role of the Restoration Group Intern is to execute the physical tasks and field activities associated with projects according to the project job requirements. The Restoration Group Intern will participate in the implement all project tasks as directed by Restoration Specialists and the Senior Restoration Specialist.NEE will be offering this internship starting at the beginning June 4 through August 31, a 13 week period. The internship requires occasional travel in order to complete restoration projects throughout the Northeast. The Restoration Group Intern must have a valid driver’s license, and must be able to conduct physically challenging activities in all weather conditions.
