New England Environmental, Inc.(NEE)
designs, permits, and builds landscape level environmental restoration
projects. This capacity has been useful when confronting issues such
as groundwater recharge zones, wetland restoration, fisheries and
wildlife habitat enhancement, and watershed restoration. Our projects
have ranged from small restorations, to large Superfund site environmental
restorations, gravel pit restorations, and pond restoration and management
projects.
NEE uses a combination of appropriate native plant materials and a thorough understanding
of aquatic system hydrology and biological dynamics to form approaches to the
reestablishment of self-perpetuating natural communities. The restored systems
are typically monitored by NEE after construction to assure that progress is
being made towards a state of sustained function.
NEE has full time staff who specialize in ecological
restoration projects, and the use of native plant materials, erosion control
products, such as bioengineering materials, and the correct installation of
the plants and materials.
For Bioengineering projects, NEE has restored rivers, land and pond shores,
and wetlands using native and biodegradable materials. NEE uses an understanding
of fluvial geomorphology, soil, and soil engineering to integrate environmentally
sound construction methods in the repair of degraded habitats.
Work Includes:
- Wetland Restoration and Mitigation Projects
- Extended Wet Detention Basins
- River and Stream Restoration
- Large River Stabilization
- Lake and Pond Restoration
- Restoration of Superfund and Gravel Pits
